"As a parent, I've struggled to raise my three children to be bilingual. I have two native languages - Hebrew and Russian, and I live in the US and far away from any community that speaks either Hebrew or Russian. I wasn't sure which language to choose to speak with my kids, and I didn't know where or how to start. Dr. Clemens was incredibly helpful in guiding me through this process. She took the time to understand my family's unique situation and provided personalized advice that was tailored to our needs. Dr. Clemens helped us understand the numerous benefits of raising bilingual children and provided practical tips on how to introduce a second language into our daily routine. During our consultation, Dr. Clemens was knowledgeable, professional, and supportive. She answered all of my questions and provided me with resources to help me incorporate a second language at home."

"My family and I are living in Mexico for a year, and my daughters, ages 10 & 13, have been off to a rocky start when it comes to learning Spanish. I want my kids to get the most out of their experience in Mexico, and to continue building toward becoming bilingual when we return to the U.S. My consultation with Lauren was a great experience and proved to be extremely helpful. After taking time to learn about our situation, the challenges my kids have been facing, and my expectations, Lauren helped me craft a plan that is both comprehensive and realistic. She offered advice on ways I can take a collaborative approach with my kids to help foster a more positive attitude toward bilingualism, as well as specific activities and external resources to support language learning here in Mexico and when we return to the U.S. I now have better overall understanding of the mechanics of how kids learn a 2nd language, and how this learning differs according to age group. Most importantly, the tools I learned from Lauren have immediately resulted in my kids being more open to learning Spanish, which has led to a great deal of progress. I’m so glad I decided to work with Lauren."

"As a multi-lingual parent attempting to raise a multi-lingual child in a mono/English language dominant household and society, I’m so happy there are smart and knowledgeable people like Lauren to speak with and consult on the best approach to helping my family reach our language goals! During my discussion with Lauren, she took the time to understand our language approach and situation at home/school before giving me feedback. I love that she brings in empirical evidence and research from applied linguistics in her responses. She helped dispel some myths about language learning, which I find reassuring and very helpful. At the end of the session, she gave me a ton of feedback about how to move forward in our family’s language learning journey, including a nicely written “report” that I can revisit from time to time. I feel confident that I have a good plan moving forward helping my child learn a second or even a third language and I feel comfortable coming back to Lauren for further consultation."

"I speak Polish to my two children at home but am the only one who speaks Polish in their daily lives. Lauren provided me with helpful suggestions on how to integrate more opportunities for speaking Polish into our daily routine and followed up with valuable online resources. As a parent, raising bilingual children can often feel like an uphill battle, but my conversation with Lauren has reignited my motivation to continue. She is not only knowledgeable but also supportive and encouraging."
